What is a good health insurance provider for a college student in Boston?
Hi,
I am currently attending school in Boston from another state, so the insurance is a lot more expensive here. Last year I waived the school fee and was covered by my Dad’s insurance, but he recently lost his job so I was enrolled in the school’s insurance (Aetna Student Health). I will only be here 9 months and the coverage for a year is $930.00; I’ve read mixed reviews over Aetna, and heard some stories of where people were turned down by a regular doctor and told to go to the ER. The insurance would be the most basic you could get. I’ve yet to go to a doctor since I’ve been in Mass, but I usually only see one when I pretty much feel like I’m on my death bed so I’ve been to a doctor once in the last two or so years.
Would you suggest sticking with Aetna, or is there something else I should look into?
Thanks for all your help!
