health insurance and college students – Rhode Island Laws.?

my boyfriend is 20 years old. he is a full time college student and has no time for a job. he still lives with his mother because he’s saving up money to move out on his own. because he doesn’t have a job, he has no health insurance. when he turned 18, they took him off his mother’s health insurance. they have very little money in general. is there anywhere they can go to get support such as food, clothing, etc… and also as a full time student i would think he is liable for health insurance through his school – community college of rhode island (CCRI). your advice is greatly appreciated. thankyou :)

Can a Public University constitutionally require students to carry mental health insurance?

I thing Psychology is an abusive and false religion (no I’m not a Scientologist so don’t give me those straw men), and find it religiously extremely offensive. I understand that a University can require comparable health insurance from its students, but can it include “Mental Health” insurance as part of its definition of “comparable coverage” and not provide a method of exemption to those who for religious reasons are morally opposed to Psychology – as psychology is fundamentally ethically prescriptive in nature while REAL medicine is not.
I’m not smoking anything – University of Northern Colorado – they require it of all students, it has nothing to do with any kind of history.
You say there are other schools I can attend – which is a valid argument for private Universities, but this is a public University. So how does this not violate the establishment clause? They can’t require you to give money to a church, so why would they be able to require you to give money to the mental health industry.
I mention the establishment clause because psychology is clearly moral in nature when it comes to its “diagnostics” as well as its “treatments”. Psychology may say “sick” instead of “sin”, or “healthy”, instead of “holy”, but they are describing the same thing. As what psychology describes as “sick”, and “Healthy” is fundamentally at conflict with what I believe is “sin” and “holy” I must constitutionally be allowed an exemption on religious grounds!
Can I get an answer from a con-law scholar who specializes in first amendment and establishment clause?

Best health and dental insurance for students in California?

I’ve never purchased insurance before. I’m a 20 year old female. Currently my wisdom teeth are impacted and that has caused a few other dental issues. The wisdom teeth extraction procedure costs much more than I can afford and other dental work on top of that needs to be done. My school offers an insurance plan only for the international students. I would like to find the best dental and health insurance plan for the most reasonable price. If anyone has any suggestions. Other than the problems with my teeth I’m a healthy, non-smoking, active young woman with no pre-existing medical conditions. Thanks!

Health Insurance And College Students

As a parent you should not overlook a solid health plan for your college student. Among all the other support you give to your son or daughter, selecting a health plan should be high on your list of things to do. Often enough your own health plan will cover your children when they are 20 to 24 years old.
