I have been going to a community college and need to finish up next fall semester so I have 3 classes so far. The deal the community colleges have with transferring to other schools (in nj anyways) is that once you graduate with the courses indicated by your major, the credits will definitely transfer to (all nj state schools for example) and only about 60 or 70 needed for your major will transfer, not any extra classes.
Anyways I only have 3 that I need. With my dads health insurance, Aetna, I need to be a full time student in order to stay on his plan. What can I do to get around this? Is my only option to take extra classes that I don’t need to fill up?
OH also— Do you think I should maybe re-take a class I didn’t do well in? Would that be a good idea or kind of a waste
Full time is 12 credits
Its about $300 a class, give or take. And hmm to the answerer 8 or 9, do you really think I can schedule a full plate, send the paper to the insurance, then drop it?
Long story short
1. I’m a casual/social marijuana smoker. thus i had smoked in a college party about a week before what happens in #2
2. I had a few projects due and 2 exams in two consecutive days, thus i went with very little sleep and high amount of “test-like anxiety” for a period of 3 days/nights, trying to make sure i make As in all of them (which i did)
3. after the last of the mentioned exams/projects, i went home with extreme fatigue, b4 i could pass out, for the 1st time in my 24 years of life i had an “anxiety attack” – i didn’t have any previous such experiences this i though of it as a heart attack and called 911 – went 2 ER. I turned out to be “healthy like a horse” quoted by the doctor. THC was found in my blood and blamed for the incident.
4. I have mandatory health insurance with my F-1 visa, i’m yet to file a claim.
5. would like to know if i file
a) my insurance pays anything
b) would drug related info on medical records be shared with school &/or government?
Notes:
1. I have been smoking ever since i was 18, on non-routine social basis except for first few months
2. Since the incident i have stayed off of weed
3. I’m not sure about how this may or may not violate my visa status, and am seeking info on who this info will be shared with after disclosed to insurance company by hospital upon my claim being filed. i just want to avoid getting my visa revoked and deported-as this was not caused in any way by a week old smoking experience (i smoked a blunt that night of some really potent stuff, so it could have well stayed in my system for that period of time).
4. I did sign a paper in hospital that notified me and confirmed that i know my info will not be shared with any other parties.
5. my claim form has a full disclosure clause that i have to sign which will allow any and all related info to this incident to be shared with insurance company.
6. Insurance coverage is provided by my college thru this company.
What are some good companies that offer good rates for individual insurance? Anything from basic, to dental, vision surgery …..
I’m a F-1 student looking for health insurance not expensive but liable. I am rarely see doctor, pretty health person! Is there any good recommend for me? Thank you.
So, I’m looking for my first health insurance since becoming independent. What is a reasonable amount for the deductible and monthly payments, coinsurance and the price per office visit? I really have no idea…thanks for any advice. i’m a full time student btw and i’m 19 female
I am a full-time student who desperately needs health insurance. I posted a similar question but haven’t received any answers. My job won’t offer any health benefits for a whole year (Wal-Mart). I buy Concerta from the pharmacy. My college offers no health insurance and nobody I talked to knew what to tell me.
Can anyone recommend a plan? My job is only part-time so I need something cheap or affordable that will help cover my medication. Please help. I have no idea how to do this. D:
I am a 29 year old substitute teacher and part time student. I am looking for some type of affordable health isurance and prescription plan.
I am in need of some help…I have no idea where to look.
Can anyone please point me in the right direction?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks so much!
I have to be enrolled as a full time student in order to keep my insurance. I currently am, but my classes run from Jan-mid-March (they are compressed because they are online)
Once March rolls around, will I no longer be considered a full-time student? Or since I took a semester worth of classes, will I still get to keep that insurance until Fall semester starts?
