Is there a way to get health insurance for unemployed family member?
My father is 55, unemployed for 9+ months with no options from his previous employer. He has no debt and owns his own home free and clear. He has limited future employment options and lacks the cash to pay for his own health insurance. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

He might can try to apply for community or state health insurance but he probable doesn’t qualify. People rarely do. His best option is to try to find an affordable private insurance. He get more information from the local DHS to see if he qualifies for medicaid or medicare.
