Check with the college. Many offer a discounted group policy for the students

been there done that. to be honest you are screwed. i paid $200 for the school health insurance and it didnt cover crap. the only thing that saved me is me working at cvs. i found out if i work 24hrs i get their insurance since i worked there over a year, but thats all that saved me. look into government programs. lets hope this health bill goes through even though i doubt it will. good luck.
P.S. dont do aentana or what ever that is. it wont help you cover much.

Actually, the student health insurance available through the university is probably your best bet. No insurance (unless you’re one of the beautiful people towards the top of the food chain) is as good as it used to be, but insurance through the university is still the best option if it’s available. Of course, the insurance company still only really cares about the money, but the university can generally negotiate better terms and they, generally, heavily subsidize the cost.

Search for a high deductible catastrophic health plan. Then start a health savings account and pay out of pocket for your maintenance care. This is the best option. No employer can take it away and you can move from job to job and carry the same insurance. Once you build up your accnt you will easily be able to cover the deductible AND you will not be limited on your health care choices.

health-quotes.isgreat.org – my family have this health insurance. It is affordable and has good coverage for dental issues.

I was surprised to find that you should be able to obtain something for much less money than if you were older or in another state. For example, Blue Cross Blue Blue Shield Blue Care Network of Michigan offers a Young Adult Blue PPO policy that is under $50 per month, even in Detroit, where health tends to be worse than elsewhere. UnitedHealthOne has even less expensive plans, starting at between $30 and $40 in Detroit. Enter your ZIP code and date of birth at http://www.ehealthinsurance.com to get precise quotes.
