I believe they are covered by the state – it is essentially paid for by taxes. We look out for each other.

well im unemployed…but my wifes job carries the medical insurance.
if my employer and her emplyer both carried health ins why would we do both?

I just don’t have any. I didn’t even opt for cobra because somehow they seem to think that since you’re unemployed now, you can afford to pay nearly three times as much for the same coverage.
Just doin’ without and hoping for the best ’til I find something.

Some people continue under COBRA and the government will pay for 65% of the premium based on the new stimulus plan signed by Obama. Other choose to go with cheaper individual plans and of course, there are many who are uninsured.
