Starbucks actually has really good health insurance so that is one place to look for a part-time job. There are lots of people who earn nice salaries who still need a part-time job for the insurance. Also you might consider getting cheaper insurance at your normal job (picking the cheaper plan) and getting a Flexible Spending Account for health expenses. You put a percentage of each paycheck into an account and use that for your healthcare expenses that insurance won’t cover, and it’s pre-tax money meaning your contributions go a lot further than post-tax dollars. Talk to an accountant or your job’s HR folks about this option.

It costs what it costs. A comprehensive family plan is GOING to cost $800 to $1200 a month. The BEST way to get coverage affordably, is through your employer – because then the employer picks up a big chunk of the cost.

I think you already know that purchasing health insurance is important. You need a trusted adviser to help you through the process so that you understand what you are purchasing.
First and foremost, you need to determine how much you will participate in sharing the cost of your health care. This will determine the cost of your health insurance.
If you choose a plan that covers everything i.e. doctors office visits, prescription drugs, preventative health benefits, maternity coverage, low deductibles and low copays your monthly premiums will be significant.
On the other hand if you and your family are young and healthy and rarely use the health care system you can choose a plan that covers the major health catastrophe your premiums will be relatively low. With your annual income you may be financially able to cover some expenses out of pocket as they arise.
Check with the agent that writes your home, auto or business insurance he/she can provide you valuable advice that takes into account your budget and your family’s health situation. Your agent can show you different plans that fit your health situation and your budget.
Some may suggest going on line to get a quote but there is so much more to the decision than price. If you want to use the Internet use it to educate yourself but use an agent to purchase the coverage.

Speak with a health insurance broker. A broker works with several insurers and can find the best plan, rates and coverage for the monks. To find a broker, log on to a website like http://www.healthinsurancewiz.com and fill out a form requesting a free quote. Your information will be sent to a broker in your area who will contact you.
